Artist talk with Afrorack & Siri Thiermann

Musician and synthesizer developer Brian Bamanya, known as Afrorack, and sound artist Siri Thiermann give an insight into their creative practice in this talk. The event offers a multi-faceted perspective on their work as musicians and synth enthusiasts.

Together we will explore the impulses that motivate them and how their work contributes to opening up new perspectives in electronic music.

A central topic of the conversation is the question of how intersectional thinking, decolonial and feminist practices can enrich and diversify the synthesizer music scene. We will discuss which small steps towards a critical discourse are possible through sound practice.
