Hardly any other force changes the way we live and work like digital technologies. But so far this new power has hardly been democratized at all. This is not the decision of sovereign citizens who can decide on their digital future, but of corporations, manipulation, advertising, control, belief in technology and enormous profits – at serious social cost. It is time to change that.

Digitization can and must be democratized. It is precisely at the level of the European Union that it is possible to reduce harmful practices and promote digital alternatives for the common good. The »Democracy in Europe Movement 2025« developed the vision of a technologically sovereign Europe and concepts on how to achieve it.
