Jan Peters "Lost Tapes Found 1, 2, 3" – Three films
In “Lost Tapes Found 1, 2, 3” the typical autobiographical starting point for the films and radio plays by Jan Peters is a garage. In the midst of the chaos of film cans, photos, and audio and video tapes is a copy of the manifesto “The Right to Be Lazy” by Paul Lafargue from 1883. In the foreword by Aslan V. Grimson there is a statement “The only acceptable economic form in this society is trash collection,” which keeps the radio play author from throwing away what he finds. Instead, everything is stored in his studio and examined piece by piece for its (economic) viability. With a great deal of humor and (self-)irony, Jan Peters searches for answers to the big (and little) questions of life in his unexpected, re-discovered image, sound, and text archive.
