Constructing landscapes and digital ecologies
Sat, June 17, 2023 11 am – 1 pm CEST, Workshop
Atrium 1+2
Languages: German, English

From 12 years, limited number of participants!

The project Driving the Human invites us to test and discuss seven prototypes for eco-social renewal that, by combining art, technology, and science, propose new ways of relating to each other and to that which surrounds us.

The workshop will take younger visitors (around age 12) on a journey behind the scenes of our project Monsters and Ghosts of the Far North and aims to inspire ways of seeing, understanding and representing local surroundings. The project includes a multiplayer video game, that allows us to jump into different non-human characters in order to experience the Arctic region from their perspective. Through an interactive playing session within the installation itself in the Driving the Human exhibition, we will dive into our methodology of (re-)constructing landscapes, ecosystems and narratives based on spatial data and research. We will then venture outside ZKM and look at ways of collecting digital assets through photogrammetry, which will be brought together within a digital collage for exploration.

The workshop is also suitable for interested adults.
