Our technological consumer gadgets are being produced to be thrown away. The artist Akwasi Bediako Afrane uses the discarded devices as material for his artwork. He hacks, repairs and repurposes it, to explore the relationship between humans, technology and our environment.
It takes many skills to bestow new life on the broken, one of them being soldering.
We invite you to visit our Tool_Lab and work with Akwasi Bediako Afrane and the instructors of ZKM to learn more about a technique that travelled from engineering into the fine arts.
No previous experience is necessary.
No registration required.
Children are allowed to work alongside adults only.
Participants: Akwasi Bediako Afrane, Clemens Pasch
