ZKM at the cinema: In the new ZKM and Kinemathek film series, we would like to enter into a dialog with you on social issues. The series kicks off with a film on the topic of »environmental destruction and racism«.
In their film project »Environmental Racism in Death Alley, Louisiana«, the English collective Forensic Architecture (FA) investigates the environmental destruction caused by petrochemical plants in the US state of Louisiana. The predominantly black inhabitants are particularly affected by an increased risk of cancer. The documentary shows the research work of Forensic Architecture and the activist group RISE St. James and documents their fight for justice.
Afterwards, Alistair Hudson, scientific and artistic director of the ZKM | Karlsruhe, will speak with Dr. Susanne Benz from the Institute for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (IPF) at KIT. The conversation will be held in English.
Moderation: Carmen Beckenbach, Kinemathek Karlsruhe
