Description
This year, the ZKM is focusing on collaborations between artists and scientists. The exhibition »Renaissance 3.0« invites you to explore a base camp for new alliances between art and science in the 21st century. The project »Driving the Human« features seven prototypes that have been developed over the past two years in an exchange between artists, creatives and scientists.
But what are important prerequisites for collaborations between art and science, and what roles are necessary?
These questions will be discussed with the artists Anna Dumitriu and Alex May, the professor of microbiology at the Institute of Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Diethard Mattanovich, as well as the curator and mediator Sonja Schachinger and the art and media scientist Ingeborg Reichle in the context of the project »Fermenting Futures«, which is on display in the exhibition »Renaissance 3.0«.
The panel discussion, moderated by ZKM curator Sarah Donderer, will take place as part of the workshop forum on »Art-Science Collaborations: Establishing a Research Agenda«, organized jointly with the Schering Stiftung.
