Nonprogrammable Programming Languages

Why would someone create a programming language that cannot be programed in and, if it cannot be programed in, is it a programming language?

The esoteric class of programming languages, commonly called »esolangs«, have long challenged the norms of programming practice and computing culture.

This talk by Daniel Temkin will focus on the ones which most directly challenge programming languages as practical tools: languages that are essentially unusable. While some function primarily as humor, parodying mainstream languages, others challenge conventional understanding of the very definitions of language, code, and computer, along with our relationship with computational systems.
