Karolina Sobel

Karolina Sobel, born in Poland in 1987, is a visual artist who works mainly with photography and moving images. Her artistic work encompasses themes such as identity, community building, social exclusion and migration. Using photographs, videos, found images and installations, she questions modes of representation and promotes critical discourse. Sobel utilises a documentary approach that blurs the line between fiction and reality to expand narrative possibilities. She is an academic assistant in the media art department at the Hochschule für Gestaltung and a master student at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig.
