Biography
Erec Gellautz is an art historian and curator. As a scholarship holder in the program »Museumskuratoren für Fotografie« awarded by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung he is researching and working at the Fotomuseum Winterthur, in the photography collection of the Munich City Museum, at the Museum Folkwang in Essen and at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles in 2017–2019. He worked as a researcher, curator and project manager at ZKM | Karlsruhe in 2015–2017. He curated the first retrospective of German photographer Albrecht Kunkel and in collaboration with Peter Weibel an exhibition of Gerhard Rühm, an Austrian pioneer of intermedia art. He organized the first exhibition of the Photogram Archive HeyneNeusüss. His main research interests are modern and contemporary art, photography, film, video and digital media as well as cross-epochal media-theory.
