Kai Arras is Professor of Autonomous Systems at the newly founded Institute for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Stuttgart, where he heads the Socially Intelligent Robotics Lab and conducts research into fundamental questions of AI-based robotics and human-robot interaction. Based on William Forsythe's installation »Black Flags« (2014), for which he developed a complex, contrapuntal choreography for two large black flags mounted on industrial robots, Kai Arras will talk about new approaches to the development of context-aware robots that interact with humans in a data-driven and socially intelligent way.
