App goes Art // Art goes App: The ZKM | Karlsruhe is an institution, which since its beginnings in 1989 has been critically examining the New Media and their impact on art and society from both theoretic and practical standpoints. Now for the second time, the ZKM | Karlsruhe will be presenting the international AppArtAward, together with CyberForum e.V. and the sponsoring companies Gameforge AG, CAS Software AG, GFT Technologies AG, Jung von Matt/Neckar GmbH, BrandMaker GmbH on July 13, 2012.

The renowned jury under the chairmanship of Peter Weibel will select the winner from a total of 80 submissions sent in from thirteen countries. The prize will be awarded to the best and most convincing work of art in App-format for interactivity, creativity, design look & feel, degree of innovation, stability, usability, and with respect to the total artistic impression (idea, concept, and implementation). Taken together, the three categories “Prize for Artistic Innovation”, “Special Prize for Game Art” as well as the “Special Prize for Cloud Art” represent a total value of € 30.000.
