Koichiro Matsuno

Biografie

Koichiro Matsuno, Professor am  Department of BioEngineering an der Nagaoka University of Technology, Nagaoka, Japan, forscht zu Fragen der Evolution und beschäftigt sich, ausgehend von der Kybernetik, mit dem Verhältnis von Raum/Zeit. Bekannt wurde er einem breiteren Publikum durch die These zum Ursprung des Lebens im ozeanischen Biotop. Als  unkonventioneller Denker hat sich Matsuno eine Hörerschaft auch außerhalb von Fachkreisen geschaffen. Im Rahmen des Symposiums »Sciences of the Interface« stellt Matsuno vor, wie die Thermodynamik als Interface zur Herstellung biologisch erzeugter Wärme mittels eines quantenmechanisch beschreibbaren Muskels eingesetzt werden kann.
