Thomas Lehn

Pianist and synthesizer performer Thomas Lehn studied sound engineering in Detmold and piano in Cologne. He is known for his long-time work as a performer of composed and improvised music with both the piano and the analog synthesizer. Rooted equally in these two major practices of contemporary music, Lehn has developed a unique language of electronic music with his EMS Synthi A. In addition to his own electronic music and extensive international ensemble activities, he has realized compositions by É. Radigue, B. Schaeffer, R. Haubenstock-Ramati, Z. Karkowski, A. Pateras, Chr. Fox and P. Jakober, among others. His work is documented on about 100 recordings. (
