Description

Recent advances in the field of artificial intelligence are revolutionizing the way with which we think and act. They give an idea of the fundamental changes that will affect our society in the coming years. The interdisciplinary symposium »Encoding Cultures. Living Amongst Intelligent Machines« brought scientists, programmers and developers, cultural theorists and artists into dialogue with a broader public. The lectures and discussions provide insight into the latest state of research and development in the field of machine learning and ask about the current and long-term effects of this technology on science, business, politics, art and society.

Christian Hirth (M.Sc.) completed his Master in Media and Communication in 2014. From 2012 to 2017 he worked at the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences in the fields of video technology, film production and digital processing of films. In addition to his academic work, he collected entrepreneurial skills as a freelancer and worked for agencies in Paris, but also for clients such as Ernst & Young, Nintendo, Sparkasse and Herrenknecht. During this time, the idea of founding an innovative media company was also consolidated. With the expertise of his co-founders, a strong network and a mature business model, he saw the time now ripe for the foundation of "The Chainless GmbH" - an innovative software company - in 2018.

Frederik Böhm (M.Sc.) completed his Master in Computer Science in 2015 and gathered a lot of practical experience in the area of artificial intelligence and machine learning. From 2012 to 2017 he worked as an academic employee in the Chair of Business Intelligence. In the course of his teaching activities at of the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg, he has contributed a lot to the technical component of Big Data and machine learning. Specialization in the field of artificial intelligence and the enthusiasm to realize own ideas and projects, led him to the development of DeepVA - a groundbreaking Product for the analysis of video and image material.
