In a world where everyone is communicating with everyone else and everything is communicating with everything else, the »Talking Tubes« aim to raise awareness of the value and power of direct and personal dialog.
The interactive acoustic installation made of industrial waste and fire hoses offers a choice of four aphoristic dialogs. They deal with the courage of one's opinion, a terrible-beautiful utopia, freedom of speech and the first interesting small talk.
The dialogs were spoken by Jan Josef Liefers and Anna Loos (from the end of August 2021 in English by Judy Sheer and Bruce Nozick).
The installation is flanked by nine light objects, a charity project described in the book »How to turn a dirty past into a bright future« (available at ZKM Shop).
Jean-Remy, born in Brussels in 1952, is a Swiss citizen and lives in Berlin.
