Biografie
1932–1938Architekturstudium an der Technischen Hochschule in Stuttgart bei Paul Bonatz
1939Emigration über England nach Caracas, Venzuela
1940Arbeit in einem Architekturbüro. Heirat mit dem Unternehmer Ernst Gunz, mit dem sie zwei Kinder hat und von dem sie sich 1952 scheiden lässt. Einrichtung eines Geschäftes für Holzmöbel und Lampen
1948Freie Arbeit für Architekten, Entwurf u. a. des ersten Nachtklubs von Caracas
1952Gego erhält die venezolanische Staatsbürgerschaft. Begegnung mit Gerd Leufert, mit dem sie bis zu ihrem Tod zusammenlebt
1953Umzug nach Tarma, wo zahlreiche Landschaftszeichnungen, Aquarelle, Monotypien und Holzschnitte entstehen
1954Ausstellung von zwei Aquarellen im XV Salón Oficial Anual de Arte Venezolana
1955Dreimonatige Reise in die Schweiz, nach England und Deutschland
1956Experimente mit dreidimensionalen Werken. Rückkehr nach Caracas
1958/1959Lehrerin für Aquarell und Gouache an der Architektur- und  Städtebaufakultät der Universidad Central de Venezuela und Skulptur an der Escuela de Artes Plásticas Cristobal Rojas. Sie beginnt mit Aluminium und Stahl zu arbeiten, verwendet geometrische Flächen und experimentiert mit Volumen
1959/1960Aufenthalt in den USA. Sie experimentiert mit Grafiktechniken und stellt Metallskulpturen her, darunter Esfera, die das Museum of Modern Art erwirbt
1961Erste Einzelausstellung im Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas
1963Stipendium für einen Aufenthalt in Europa und den USA
1964Rückkehr nach Caracas, wo sie bis 1967 wieder an der Universität lehrt
1966Fellow am Tamarind Lithography Workshop
1968Nationalpreis für eine Zeichnung beim XIX Salón Oficial Anual de Arte Venzolana.Zusammen mit Gerd Leufert erhält sie den Auftrag für zwei Wandgemälde am Hauptgebäude des Instituto Nacional de Cooperación Educativa
1969Installation von Reticulárea im Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas, danach in New York. Sie beginnt mit modularen Säulen aus rostfreiem Stahl zu arbeiten
1970Mit Chorros, einer Gruppe von hängenden Aluminiumstäben, wendet sie sich einem Konstruktionssystem aus vertikalen Linien zu
1977Anlässlich einer Retrospektive im Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas. Veröffentlichung der ersten Monografie von Hanni Ossott
