James Mooney
Biografie
James Mooney lectures in film and philosophy at The Universityof Edinburgh, where he also acts as course organiser for the Short Courses programme. James regularly lectures for Jönköping University (Sweden) as well as Arcadia University (USA). He has recently presented conference papers in Edinburgh (»Bertolucci’s Conformist«); Cork (»cats in transgressive cinema«); and Istanbul (»Duncan Jones' Moon and the philosophy of Derek Parfit«).
James curates the Filmosophy season of philosophical films in association with the Edinburgh Filmhouse cinema and has hosted several events as a part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival. He is currently working with the world-leading MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine on a season of films to promote public engagement and understanding of stem cell research.
