Ria Hinken, a networker and head of the project alterskompetenz.info, discusses the opportunities and risks for those above sixty years of age in dealing with computers, tablets, and smartphones in the era of the smart city and the smart home.

Self-driving cars and domestic assistance systems can be advantageous for older people, supporting their mobility. The smart city and the smart home are both only at the beginning of their potentialities.

The demands on our digital competence are becoming increasingly complex, although many innovations exist that should actually relieve us. Relief can only be achieved if we can use the necessary tools correctly and carry out updates on a regular basis. Both can be a problem for inexperienced users. For this reason, it is particularly important that we constantly concern ourselves with digitization and its services. This has been proven to keep our brains fit.

Please note: In case of bad weather the event will not take place.
