Biografie

Sarah Lewison is an artist, writer, and activist whose work centers on political ecology, intersubjectivity and critical pedagogies. Her installation, performance, and media projects address relationships between human and nonhuman entities through play, dialog and images. She has presented work and lectured in the USA and internationally, currently often in collaboration with Compass collective. Her essays appeared in: »Pat Harrigan and Noah Wardrip-Fruin« (eds.), »Third Person. Authoring and Exploring Vast Narratives« (The MIT Press, 2009), »Alexis Bhagat and Lize Mogel« (eds.), »An Atlas of Radical Cartography, Journal of Aesthetics & Protest« (2007), »Nicole Antebi, Colin Dickey, and Robby Herbst« (eds.), »Failure! Experiments in Aesthetic and Social Practices, Journal of Aesthetics & Protest« (2008), »Tema« (Denmark), »Journal of Northeast Issues« (Germany), »AREA« (Chicago), »Journal of Aesthetics & Protest« (Los Angeles). She is an associate professor in the College of Mass Communication and Media Arts at Southern Illinois University, has also taught at University of Chicago, University of California at Davis, and San Francisco State University.
