Feminale der Musik
Yoko Ono denkt in ihrem 1964 erschienenen Buch »Grapefruit« darüber nach, Grapefruits als eine Mischung aus Zitronen und Orangen zu sehen und sah dies als Metapher für ihre eigene Identität: Dazwischen-Sein. Diesen Gedanken griffen die Macherinnen des Fanzine auf und ließen sich zu ihrem eigenen Titel inspirieren.
»grapefruits« ist ein Fanzine über Komponistinnen und Klangkünstlerinnen das derzeit von Nathalie Brum, Elisa Kühnl, Elisa Metz und Theresa Nink zusammengestellt und produziert wird. Es entstand 2019 am Institut für Musik und Medien der RSH Düsseldorf im Rahmen des Masterstudiengangs Klang und Realität, geleitet von Prof. Dr. Heike Sperling und Prof. Dr. Swantje Lichtenstein.
Das Fanzine erscheint seit Druck der ersten Ausgabe im Sommer 2019 zweimal jährlich. Die AutorInnen variieren von Ausgabe zu Ausgabe und wählen die Künstlerinnen, die sie interviewen und über die sie schreiben, nach persönlichem Interesse aus. Dabei achten alle AutorInnen darauf, verschiedene Genres im Kunst- und Popkontext sowie ein breites internationales Spektrum abzudecken, das sowohl zeitgenössische Künstlerinnen als auch frühe Pioniere umfasst. Für jede Ausgabe legen die AutorInnen ein Thema fest, das die verschiedenen Charaktere miteinander verbindet und gleichzeitig das unterschiedliche Verständnis hervorhebt, das jede und jeder von ihnen für das jeweilige Thema hat.
In Zusammenarbeit mit grapefruits ersah die FEMINALE DER MUSIK drei Komponistinnen für das Programm. Das Fanzine-Kollektiv schlug vor, Lea Bertucci, Tomoko Sauvage und Jiyun Park einzuladen. Zusätzlich zu der Präsentation dieser drei Komponistinnen durch Artikelseiten fanden in diesem Rahmen drei besondere Veranstaltungen statt: ein Interview mit Tomoko Sauvage, ein Interview mit den Autorinnen von grapefruits und ein Live-Studio-Konzert mit Jiyun Park.
