An evening of presentations about selected works of the exhibition »GLOBAL CONTROL AND CENSORSHIP« and the collaboration between the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM) and ZKM. Julia Scher will talk about her work »Girl Dogs, Haus of Scher« and Christian Sievers about his work »Hop3«. Furthermore the speakers will talk about their scientific and artistic work; the »Surveillant Architectures« program at the KHM.

The Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln (KHM) [Academy of Media Arts Cologne] was founded in 1990 – one year after the ZKM | Karlsruhe – and specializes in the study of media art. Julia Scher is professor of media art at the KHM and focuses mainly on Multimedia and Performance »Surveillant Architecture«. In both her artistic and teaching activities, together with Christian Sievers attention centers on the subjects of surveillance and security, including in architectonic contexts. During the summer semester of 2015, their students worked intensively on these subjects, and developed installations for the exhibition GLOBAL CONTROL AND CENSORSHIP.

The presentations will be held in English.
