We are currently at a crucial state, where intensive extractivism and deforestation leads to a huge number of deaths all over the globe. It is important to understand that this is not happening independently in isolated locations, but that there are interdependencies on a global scale. In her artistic practice, Eliana Otta introduces the idea of collective mourning. Mourning the loss of lives of people, plants, animals, and lifeforms that are globally interconnected to each other.

Together with writer, curator, scholar and entrepreneur on culture and technology, José-Carlos Mariátegui, and artistic-scientific director of ZKM, Alistair Hudson, Eliana Otta will discuss the entanglement of life, ways of solidarity and how art and technology can support the visibility of climate activists on a political level.
