Biography

George Barker obtained a Bachelor's in Film Studies from King’s College London and is a recent graduate of the Presentation and Preservation of the Moving Image MA at the University of Amsterdam. During his studies in The Netherlands, George became (and continues to work as) a research assistant and exhibition producer for LIMA on a multifarious video art project entitled »Artists Talking Back to the Media 2016-2017«. George has produced screening programs at the EYE Film Museum and at the Royal Anthropological Institute in London, as well as presenting archival research at the VU University, SOAS, the EDCR 2017 Symposium in Glasgow, and at the British Silent Film Symposium 2016. As an archivist in residence George will assess the contents of the Raindance Corporation collection held at the ZKM whilst simultaneously presenting his findings to students at the HfG (University of Art and Design) Karlsruhe.
