What is behind the »the cloud«? As part of the #digilounge discussion series, Andreas Baur and Sabine Faller will talk about this and the importance of cloud infrastructures in the age of Corona.

Corona in particular has shown how important cloud infrastructures are for Western societies. In companies, administrations, research and education as well as in the private sector: Cloud computing describes a trend that is being driven not only by the argument of innovation (big data and artificial intelligence are just two examples), but also by savings and security arguments. But what is behind the cloudy picture of the cloud? What is changing in Internet technology, but also what are the political and social implications of cloud use? What about dependencies, privacy and cyber security? And where is »the cloud«?
