Alaina Schempp
Biografie
Alaina Schempp is a third-year PhD candidate and assistant lecturer in Film Studies at the University of Kent. Her thesis, supervised by Murray Smith and Margrethe Bruun Vaage, focuses on the cognition and aesthetics of time and timing in narrative film and video. She holds a Research MA from the Universiteit van Amsterdam in Media Studies and a BA from the University of Michigan in Film & Video Studies and English Language & Literature with a minor in Screenwriting. Her areas of interest include temporality and timing, film as philosophy, analytic philosophy of film, conceptual metaphor theory, screenwriting, and theories of comedy.
