»The Internet’s Own Boy« is about the developer and activist Aaron Swartz, who advocated for an open internet and free access to information.

Aaron Swartz was a well-known activist and co-founder of Reddit and Demand Progress. At the age of 14, he already played a major role in the development of RSS 1.0 and the Creative Common License. Later, the Internet pioneer devoted himself entirely to activism and opposed the two US bills SOPA and PIPA, which were intended to restrict Internet use. An extensive criminal investigation against Swartz was soon under way. On January 11, 2013, the then 26-year-old committed suicide.

Please note: The film will be shown in English.
