Sat, May 18, 2019 – Sun, May 19, 2019

What are the economic, cultural and political implications of the development of artificial intelligence? Artists, developers and curators discuss the topic »Machine Learning«.

New developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) have more and more influence on our everyday life. The advanced machine learning technologies raise many new questions about the effects of AI and provide diverse tools for artistic experiments. The event brings together representatives from various disciplines to discuss the production and artistic application of »intelligent« technologies.

The invited scientists and developers will deal with the technical aspects of automated methods of creativity, cognition and problem solving. Practical experiences with new technologies will be exchanged in the context of a workshop. The speakers will present their projects and talk about production pragmatics and their reflections on working with AI. The program will be rounded off by audiovisual performances produced with machine learning tools.

The conference takes place within the framework of the Science Year Project »Artificial Intelligence and Art« sponsored by the City of Karlsruhe.

Please note: The lectures will be held in English, the workshops will be given in German.
