Filmscreening: Neo and Morpheus meet Open Codes

On Thursday, March 14, 2019 the ZKM invites you to a film screening of a well-known science fiction film from 1999 with an introduction by Prof. Dr. Johan Frederik Hartle, interim rector of the HfG Karlsruhe.

In this cult film, the Wachowski brothers draw a fictional dystopian future in which reality is shaped by deceptively real, virtual realities and artificial intelligences. Before the screening, Mr. Hartle will examine key ideas from the film as part of his introduction and relate them to positions from media theory.
