Spatial Code Lab
Wed, March 07 – Sun, March 11, 2018
- Location
- Ackerspace, Atrium 8+9
From March 7–11, 2018, »Spatial Code Lab« invites anyone that is interested to get a better insight into the world of digital, spatial design.
Participants should take the time over one or several days may also bring their own laptop with them if interested in programming. The participants focus on working with the »Spatial Code Lab« robot arm and develop an understanding for the connections between digital and physical code. Each day, the participants have the opportunities to work on digital 3D designs on the computer and to turn this into a physical material such as paper or polystyrene using different tool techniques.
Firstly, there are painting/drawing heads where robotic drawing techniques can be tried out, but there are also various cutting heads and hot wire cutters available for use for specially conceived sofware tools for the robot arm.
The workshops are open to ZKM visitors as well as experts and designers who are interested in entering this new way of working.
